Contraceptive Choices Quiz
This quiz will take approximately 5 minutes to complete and has 15 questions.
There are questions about you, how you want to use contraception, and whether you are experiencing pressure from other people about your contraception and pregnancy choices.
We will use your answers to show you 3 types of contraception that might suit your preferences. Your results will include a list of questions you can ask your health provider to find the best method for you.
(Please note, we will only give you information about contraception currently available in Australia. If you are taking the quiz from another country there may be different options available to you.)

Could you become pregnant? (do you have a vagina/uterus)?
Could you cause a pregnancy (do you have a penis/sperm)?
Do you want contraception that prevents pregnancy?
Do you want contraception that protects against STIs?
Do you want contraception that can be used to manage difficult, heavy, irregular periods?
Would you like contraception that:
I am happy to take contraception that uses hormones (Contraception can work by changing your hormone levels, or by physically stopping sperm from reaching an egg. You can choose contraception that uses hormones or contraception that does not.)

Would you like contraception that is easy to hide/undetectable?

Are you feeling pressured, threatened, tricked or forced to end a pregnancy (have an abortion)?
Do you feel controlled, afraid or unsafe in your relationship(s) (for example, with a partner, family member or carer)?
Your responses suggest that you may not be fully in control of if or when you use contraception or become pregnant.
A partner, family member, or someone else may be pressuring or forcing you to be pregnant, to use contraception, or to end a wanted pregnancy. This is called Reproductive Coercion and Abuse (RCA). People can use physical, emotional or verbal violence, blackmail, threats or coercion to control your reproduction.
If you feel like someone might be trying to control your use of contraception, or your decisions about whether to become or stay pregnant, you can get support from 1800 RESPECT on 1800 737 732. If you are in Queensland, you can call Children by Choice on 07 3357 5377.
